HOPE

When objects in nature break, they tend to break down further to either create something new (shells into sand) or help to create something new (organic material into fertilizer). What they don’t do is fret over the fact that they are broken. I think there’s a lot to learn from nature, specifically how it adapts and grows according to its surroundings and circumstances. My current body of work explores this concept by crafting custom paint pigments from shells and turning these “broken pieces” into an equally, if not more, beautiful piece of art. I, like most, have learned the hard way that on the other side of pain and brokenness is strength, resilience,  and hope of something better waiting for you. My goal with this collection is to help others realize this as well no matter what stage of life’s path you are experiencing.
