These shells were found along the beach Fort Morgan, Alabama. The beach stretches on and on with bright white sands and these hidden blue shells. I love the blue-tinted gray pigment these shells made for the background.
On each stretched canvas print, I apply the textured "shoreline" and shell pigment to the background by hand.
In each piece from this collection I use an acrylic medium. But what makes these special is that I also create a custom fine powder pigment out of the shells depicted in each painting that I found myself, and I use that paint on these paintings. I'm always so excited to see what the color will be. Each of these limited edition prints are hand embellished with this hand made shell pigment. Due to the limited supply of that pigment based off of the amount of shells I foraged, these prints are limited to 5.
